Project Year

Location

St Paul, MN

Minger Construction was contracted by the City of St. Paul to install new gravity sewer, forcemain, and lift station across the river from downtown in the Water Street Sanitary Sewer District to accommodate the rapid new development in the area. The existing sanitary sewer and manholes were replaced with 2,700 LF of new PVC gravity sewer at depths up to 25 ft. The lift station consisted of a wet well 40 ft below grade with a valve vault attached. 1,500 LF of new dual forcemains were installed via open cut and directional drill from the valve vault to a discharge manhole at the downstream end of the project.  A shallow groundwater table and utilities on the site created a challenging environment for deep sewer and lift station installation.
